In addition to a new appearance, this new version will introduce new features that will be integrated progressively over the next months.

We also revised our pricing and the license purchase policy to better serve our customer base.

The new version launch is was scheduled for July 1st, 2024, but due to some technical deployment issues, we have pushed back the launch to July 8th, 2024.

The fees will be indexed following the official inflation numbers published by Statistics Canada in April (rounded up to the nearest 5$).

New Pricing

As was announced a few weeks ago, new license prices take effect as of April 1st, 2023, after more than a decade at the same price.

The Corporation de services du Barreau du Québec has always strived to offer the best possible software at a reasonable price, but inflation has caught up with us after all these years. This increase in revenue will enable us to continue investing to maintain and improve JuriFamille for years to come.

Group Accounts

Also on April 1st, 2023, the long awaited Group accounts feature has been launched! Read more about it here.

For the first time since 2012, starting April first, we will update JuriFamille's prices. Details are available on the pricing page.

This new version is first and foremost a modernization of the application architecture. Such changes are not so apparent, but the new architecture will allow us to move forward to continue to improve the application over the coming months and years.

Apart from the usual annual integration of the new Determination Table and fiscal rules (for 2023), here is an overview of the changes:

• Two-factor authentication

  When logging in to your account, you will continue to enter your email and password, but JuriFamille will also send an email message containing a validation code which you must enter to validate your log in.

• Read-only Scenarios

  When an update to calculation rules (either fiscal or in the forms themselves) would potentially change the results of existing scenarios, the application will put these scenarios in read-only mode, meaning that the existing results will be preserved. You will be given the choice to either apply the new calculation rules to the scenario, or copy the scenario to a new one, thereby preserving the original scenario with the existing results.

• Preview of PDF forms

  JuriFamille now shows a preview of the PDF form before you download it. It allows for faster viewing and verification before you save or print the actual form on your computer.

Many more changes have also been made, namely to license management and other aspects of the application. We will announce these new features one at a time over the course of the next few weeks.

While having been regularly updated to follow fiscal and regulatory modifications since its launch in 2010, the application was in need of a thorough rewrite to address security and privacy issues as well as new possibilities offered by recent technological progress. We are proud to offer Jurifamille version 2.0 this coming January 1st 2023, with the accompanying 2023 determination table and fiscality.

Jurifamille offers two online training courses:

These training courses are freely accessible to JuriFamille users who buy a 12-month accesss license and are offered to other users at a cost of $25.

For members of Barreau du Québec, these courses also count as a 2-hour credit towards their continuous education program.
