February 14, 2024 Quebec Childcare Refundable Tax Credit Correction

A correction has been made to the calculation of the eligible ceiling for child care expenses for the provincial refundable tax credit for child care expenses.

This correction has an impact on the credit calculated in the event that the total childcare costs exceed the ceiling provided per child for this credit. So if you have scenarios with the following conditions:

  • more than one child in the scenario
  • daycare expenses other than reduced contribution or holiday camp expenses giving entitlement to tax relief, the total of which exceeds the admissible ceiling for the year in your scenario.

This correction is applicable to all years supported by JuriFamille, i.e. from 2008 to 2024.

February 7, 2024 Updated Canada Workers Benefits (CWB) rates for 2022, 2024 and 2024

Following publication of Schedule 6 for the federal income tax declaration, we have updated the rates for the CWB.

For 2022 scenarios, JuriFamille was using rates that had minor discrepancies with the official 2022 rates. They have been updated to the official 2022 CWB rates.

For 2023 scenarios, up until this update, the same CWB rates as 2022 were used. They have now been updated to the official 2023 rates.

NOTE: Since the correction might cause some changes in the child and spousal support calculations, the 2022 and 2023 scenarios are now marked as read-only.

For 2024 scenarios, since the offcial rates will only be published next year, JuriFamille uses the official 2023 rates.

July 11, 2023 Option to designate parties with Father / Mother or Parent 1 / Parent 2

This update now allows, when creating a case file, to choose to designate parties with father and mother or with parent 1 / parent 2. Such designations are mainly used in the Schedule I form. In most places (other produced forms and in the JuriFamille interface), the actual names of the parties are used.

For existing case files, since it was the only option until now, the epicene form (parent 1 / parent 2) is already activated, but you can change it by clicking on Case file parameters in the beige block on the right to deactivate the option named Use Party 1 / Party 2 instead of Mister / Madam.

March 31, 2023 Feature Launch: Group Accounts

JuriFamille now allows to share case files among users of a group license!

If you are currently responsible for a group license, a group account has automatically been created for you. This allows all members of your group license to share case files, if they wish to do so.

Please note that the introduction of this feature will not enable any sharing without your explicit authorization. For all your existing case files and any new case file you create from now on, you will have to explicitly enable sharing for each one, in order for your group to be able to see and edit them.

We have added documentation that explains how to use the new sharing feature in the context of a group.

February 23, 2023 Form IV improvements

Note that these changes do not affect the calculations, only the way the information is presented on screen.
